Limit walking on the hydroseeded areas
It usually takes the mulch 2 weeks to properly germinate and sprout in the soil; therefore, we would want to limit any disturbance to the seed.
Although it may be necessary when watering the grounds, try to keep off the hydroseeded areas until grass is properly growing.
Water Regularly
Especially within the first two weeks, make sure to keep the mulch patch well-hydrated to maximize seed germination.
Usually watering the area once a day is fine, but on warmer days we suggest watering the grounds twice daily.
Fertilize as directed
When Regina Hydroseeding applies seed to your grounds, we distribute a “starter
fertilizer” to the soil to stimulate root-growth. the high level of phosphorous present in the
fertilizer helps the seed to germinate and successfully sprout. Once growth is evident
(about 2 weeks after application), it is essential to add a layer of balanced-blend fertilizer,
for example a ratio with 29-14-0 (29 nitrogen, 14 phosphorous)
Mowing
Mowing can begin once the sprouted grass reaches 3″ in height.
Mowing not only stimulates plant growth, but also increases grass thickness.
Try not to cut the grass too short at first, definitely do not cut more than 1/3 of the blade’s height.
Warranty
At Regina Hydroseeding, we take pride in using certified, high-quality products. However, if the product does not establish properly as a result of product quality or error in workmanship, we will reseed problematic areas for free within a year of application.
Warranty does not cover products that have been washed away from heavy rainfall or grounds burnt from over-fertilization, improper fertilizer application, use of incorrect fertilizer, or improper weed-killing chemicals.
